On the up

The block work did actually restart on Friday, and has continued since.


There's now a wall, almost full height, running along the side of the upper floor:


Half way along you can see the opening for the en suite window looking into the side passage.

Inside, the view from the master bedroom looks like this:


This morning we learned what the wooden pieces above the kitchen doors were for: they marked the theoretical positions of the eaves, showing that if we had them made to match the existing house they would hang below the window and prevent the patio doors from opening. So we asked for them to be brought in and raised up, and work has begun on that:


Finally for today, we also got permission at last to demolish and rebuild the garden wall, as discussed here. Progress continues.
