Dash it

The rain cleared long enough for them to get the front pebbledashed yesterday.

The side remains to be done, and the dashers don't like the look of the forecast today, so that'll most likely be tomorrow. Unfortunately the gas connection can't go in until this is done and the scaffolding completely cleared.

Flooring finally got underway in the master bedroom and dressing room, though most of it's covered in protective cardboard:

The tiler also got busy, doing about half of the en suite walls:

So this area is far from finished, but looks to be at least approaching it. We expect to be moving in the weekend after next and, while the builder was a bit coy about total finishing dates, the week ending October 3rd was at least mumbled.

Downstairs, the floating fusebox was affixed to the wall:

Hopefully we'll be able to get that moved slightly to the left to get a cupboard over it. Spark 1 said it wouldn't be a problem; Spark 2 was sceptical. We'll see.

The trenches in the living room and library floors were mostly filled in, leaving just strategic gaps:

Our stove contractor for the living room has not been responding to calls or e-mails, and is now holding up the project. So we're just going to cancel the whole thing, get the builders to remove the fireplace and neaten up the opening, and then figure out what to do about it later.

And that brings us to Quiz Time.

This item arrived in the kitchen yesterday. Can you guess what it is?

That'll hold a lot of coffee cups, I thought:

Well? Any ideas?

I figured it out from the Viessmann branding on it: it's our solar tube rack. The pink liquid is the "Heat Transfer Fluid" made from a propylene glycol base.

Looks like it'll soon be time to send this chemistry set up to the roof.
